Crime Analysis

The Crime Analyst-Information Specialist is assigned to the Investigations Bureau.  They provide administration and other members of the Department with statistical information, prepare information for the monthly crime reduction strategy meetings, assist detectives with major cases, perform technical investigation and analysis and attempt to identify crime trends in the area.  The analyst works collaboratively with members of all areas of the Department and other area agencies to provide information and leads to help solve crimes.

As a member of the Investigations Bureau, the analyst is available to provide assistance on any type of case at the request of the primary investigator or upon the discovery of related information.  They gather information from a variety of databases and bulletins and distribute the information as deemed necessary.  The analyst also works with analysts and detectives from other agencies to mutually establish area crime trends, distribute information and help solve cases.
