Residential Household Hazardous Waste Events

• LOCATION: La Habra Public Works City Yard.  521 W. Mountain View Avenue.  Enter line on southbound Walnut street at Electric Avenue.

Appointments

The residential part of the event is open to La Habra residents only. Residents should bring a form of ID and/or proof of residency such as a utility bill. Appointment times for the residential part of the event are set by last name. The times are as follows:

Suggested arrival times by last Name (Bold):
8:00 AM - 9:00 AM (A-G)       9:00 AM - 10:00 AM (H-M)      10:00 AM - 11:00 AM (N-S)      11:00 AM - 12:00 PM (T-Z)

*If you cannot make your designated time frame, come between 8am -12pm

Shredding

Items for shredding will be accepted for FREE. Shred only customers still need to arrive at the suggested arrival times shown above. We will be accepting up to 10 boxes per vehicle.  

Specifications & Regulations

Federal Regulations place a limit of a maximum of 15 gallons or 125 pounds of household hazardous waste per vehicle.  If you have more than this amount, you can still make multiple trips to our event to clean up the waste. Be aware that business waste is not accepted.

Accepted Items

Household Hazardous Waste Items will be accepted for FREE.  Items that will be accepted are electronic waste, paint and other hazardous waste items. Sharps (lancets and hypodermic needles) will also be accepted as long as they are stored in a secure container. Advertising:

The City will be advertising the event using the following methods: 1) As a flyer (see link above) in the upcoming La Habra Water Bill; 2) on the City website; and 3) through the City's text messaging notification list (click HERE to find out how to be added to the list).
