Carlos Jaramillo was hired by the City of La Habra in 1981 as a Planning Intern. Based on his performance, Carlos advanced to the positions of Assistant Planner, Associate Planner, Planning Manager, and then to his current position as Deputy Director of Community Development.
As the Deputy Director of Community Development, Carlos assists the Director of Community and Economic Development in overseeing the operations of the Building Division, Community Preservation Division, the Housing and Economic Development Division, and the Planning Division.
Carlos has strong ties to the community having been raised in La Habra and a product of the La Habra City School District and the Fullerton Joint Union High School District. He attended Las Lomas Elementary School (K-6th), Imperial Junior High School (7th to 8th), and graduated from La Habra High School (9th-12th) in 1975. Carlos holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from California State University Fullerton. He is a member of the American Planning Association.
In his spare time, Carlos enjoys spending time with his family, all sports, and anything Disney.
