City Sponsored Sports Programs

Mini Sports Class

Mini Sports is an eight-week class that meets once a week, specially designed for kids ages three-five years old that introduces the basics of soccer, tee-ball, basketball, track & field, and other recreational games.  It also develops sportsmanship and social skills.  Registration numbers vary, but the maximum number of participants in the class is 16.  We increase or decrease the number of staff running the program, based on the number of kids registered.  The last class meeting will include a BBQ for participants and their families.  The cost for the class is $45 for the first child and $40 for additional children in the same household (must register at the same time) and includes a t-shirt.  Mini Sports meets once a week for eight weeks during the school year and is also offered as a week-long, half-day camp during the summer.

Low Income Sponsorship Application

The City of La Habra offers sponsorship opportunities for youth who would like to participate in these sports programs, but because of limited resources, are not able to afford registration.  Applicants must meet the federal low income/poverty guidelines listed on the application.  A limited amount of funding is available, so requests are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.  Because of the many requests and limited resources, we may need to limit the amount of the scholarship to a portion of the registration fee.  Please note that if you are applying for a sponsorship for more than one child in your family, you must fill out an application for each child.  To download a copy of the scholarship application, please click here.
