John Muir Charter School

Class of 2013
John Muir Charter School (JMCS) is a school like no other. They give young people the opportunity to earn a high school diploma while working with California Conservation Corps, Local Conservation Corps, YouthBuild and WIA sites around the state, doing exciting and valuable work for the community.  John Muir Charter School is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).

In October 2012, the OCYC joined the JMCS family and began operating a high school diploma completion program.  Our unique program allows youth, ages 16-25, the opportunity to earn their diploma, while gaining valuable paid work experience.  How do you enroll?  Obtain your latest transcript, call (562) 383-4227, and make an appointment to see the admissions clerk.  This is a FREE service.

JMCS is the 2015 recipient of the Hart Vision Charter School of the Year award for their exceptional program.
