Habra also offers several home improvement programs for owner-occupants
of single family housing and mobile homes located within the City
boundaries. Monetary grants are offered to address repairs related to
interior and exterior code deficiencies and for general improvements
such as water heater replacement, smoke detector installation, termite
fumigation, and more. All grants are issued on first-come, first serve
The Owner Occupied Rehabilitation (OOR) Program provides eligible low-moderate income homeowners loans of up to $30,000 with 0% interest and payoff deferred until sale or transfer of property.
The program also provides grants of up to $6,000, no repayment required for very low income homeowners. The grant is currently a maximum of $21,000 for the Single Family (Interior) Rehabilitation Grant Program.
The City also offers, on an available funding basis, the following grants:
Exterior Preservation Grant maximum of $5,000
Mobile Home (Interior) Rehabilitation Grant maximum of $20,000
Roof grant maximum of $10,000
